JOIN US
Put on your Homer chic and mingle with friends, neighbors, and community members to celebrate and support health and wellness on the southern Kenai Peninsula.
Join us at The Bar 5, a new, elegant, barn-style venue on Diamond Ridge, just a few minutes from downtown Homer. With views of Cook Inlet volcanoes, fields of fireweed, and towering spruce, this spot evokes the rich beauty and deep roots that make our community so special.
Attendees will enjoy gourmet fare and an open bar highlighting fruits of the local land and sea from the expert chefs at The Kannery, as well as music and storytelling.
Tickets are $100 per person, and proceeds will purchase a new, state-of-the-art mammography machine. There are also sponsorship opportunities for businesses and individuals to support the event.

MAKE A LASTING IMPACT
The proceeds from Rooted in Community will make a lasting impact in the lives of our community members through the purchase of a new, state-of-the-art mammography machine at South Peninsula Hospital.
1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer. With breast cancer, the data are unequivocal: early detection saves lives.
SPH's current mammography machine has provided more than 10,000 life-saving cancer screenings over more than a decade. And now it's time for it to retire.
The new machine will:
- Be AI-enabled, providing faster and lower-dose mammograms, and higher resolution images
- Be equipped to perform contrast-enhanced mammography, a critical modality to find hard-to-detect cancers
- Have special tools to evaluate breast density, which can affect cancer detection and risk
Help make a lasting impact on the health of your neighbors. Reserve your seat for Rooted in Community, become a sponsor or make a donation to the South Peninsula Hospital Foundation.
